Even amongst places as special as the National Parks, Yosemite is the standout.  Few places of beauty will evoke as strong an emotional response as seeing Yosemite Valley for the first time.  Vertical granite walls shoot thousands of feet in the air, as waterfalls (including North America’s tallest) crash powerfully down to the valley floor.  Balance that with the high country’s granite domes, wildflower strewn meadows and giant sequoias groves.  You’ll spot plenty of mule deer (and the occasional black bear).  Yosemite will leave you breathless every day.

The nine-day Yosemite itinerary starts with a scenic drive and some warm-up hikes to introduce you to all the best spots.  The trip includes several of the most memorable hikes from both the valley and high country, combining panoramic views and conifer forests with the occasional spray from waterfalls hundreds of feet tall.  You will also spend days flatwater rafting and road biking through the peaceful scenery.

Travel tips include airport, lodging and camping information, as well as links to current conditions and travel alerts.  The “Short on Time?  Don’t Miss” section identifies the three days that are highlights.  Trip extensions listed include several additional hiking as well as backpacking options.

Yosemite makes a fantastic snow-draped winter destination with beautiful hikes, as well as skiing and ice skating.  A winter itinerary is also included.

Note that due to the parks' close proximities, if you purchase both the Yosemite and Sequoia/Kings Canyon Itineraries, you can get a free itinerary combining both parks into a one week trip.

New:  Looking for a shorter introductory overview itinerary?  A new 3 day in-park itinerary is now also included in this Guide.
