The National Parks of Southern Florida are all about the wildlife.  The grasslands and wetlands of Everglades are the hunting grounds of sharp-beaked colorful birds looking for fish in the waters below.  Alligators populate the mangrove waterways and bask in the sun.  Dolphins play in the boat’s wake.  The coral reefs of Biscayne are home to countless colorful fish.  And Fort Jefferson on Dry Tortugas hosts its own reefs and shipwrecks frequented by sea turtles.

The nine-day Southern Florida itinerary starts by exploring the coast and mangroves of the Everglades by tour boat and kayak.  You will then embark on a bike ride before heading to the reefs of Biscayne for a day of snorkeling (or diving) and kayaking.  Then take a scenic drive through the wetlands.  Explore the Everglades on foot, canoe and tour boat.  Experience the reef fish of the Florida Keys by glass bottom boat before heading to Dry Tortugas by ferry for final day of snorkeling.

These are concessionaire’s parks.  The guide will help you organize and book the best tours to complement your time here.  Travel tips include airport, lodging and camping information, as well as links to current conditions and travel alerts.  The “Short on Time?  Don’t Miss” section identifies three days that are highlights.  Trip extensions listed include several unique overnight camping options.

New:  Looking for a shorter introductory overview itinerary?  A new 4 day in-park itinerary is now also included in this Guide.

(Due to the remote location of Dry Tortugas, it is not feasible to see all three parks in 3 days.  If you are limited on time, a 3|day itinerary to Everglades and Biscayne is also included.)
